Virtual Working Equitation is excited to bring you our next series of exercises leading up to the March/April 2026 competition (#14)

EXERCISE 1 – January 2026

💥 Exercise Levels and Requirements

⭐️ INHAND & LIBERTY

• Choose any WENZ level for selected obstacles.

• Single or Double Slalom

• Bell Corridor

• Gate

• Jug

⭐️ INTRO ~ PREP

• Single Slalom

• Bell Corridor

• Gate

• Jug

⭐️ PRELIM ~ NOVICE ~ ELEM ~ MEDIUM

• Double Slalom (Elementary/Medium may increase difficulty with spacing of markers & tightness of turns and/or ride one-handed)

• Bell Corridor (L-shaped option from Novice level up)

• Gate (Reverse Gate option for Novice and up)

• Jug

💥 Obstacle Setup and Filming Instructions

• All obstacles must be placed within a 20m x 40m area

• Participants may choose where and how to position obstacles, as long as they are clearly visible to the camera

• The required gait for each level must be demonstrated between obstacles in one continuous video

• Camera should be set halfway along the long side of the arena

• Once set up, you may practise as many times as you like before filming

💥 Purpose and Additional Information

• These exercises are designed to support training with your horse and help you learn how to film and prepare for show competition entry

• Judges and advisors for the January exercises are Maree McAteer, Belinda Rodriguez, and Vic Nelson, all qualified WENZ judges, coaches, and trainers

• Exercise submission is $30 per horse/rider combination.

(No charges apply until your video is submitted)

• Exercises are judged as they are received.

Submissions will be accepted during January & February 2026.
